Updates...

Thank you to all for the wonderful comments and for stopping by!!!  My goal is to try to visit everyone's spaces in return...give me time.  :)

I got an update from Mom on how Micah is doing.  He arrived just fine and has been trying to settle in.  He is the neediest cat I have every known (always wants to be on your lap, sleep next to you, or on you, meows quite a bit) and Mom says he has been especially needy since arriving.  He probably is in shock and wants to make sure he is not going to be moved again and is therefore sticking very close.  I miss his fuzzy face very much, but I know that he is in excellent hands.

The weather has turned into the 50s this week which is nice, but now I have hit the constantly hot phase of the pregnancy.  I am hot all the time which is completly foreign to me, I am used to being cold all the time compounded with poor circulation.  I can't sleep under the covers and the house always feels like it is boiling hot, while Sladkey is constantly cold.  Such a pair we are...

I'm still in the hole with my Christmas shopping, I have to ship the packages across the country and I have yet to even finish buying everything.  I have this fear that things won't arrive until New Year's.  I am normally so much more on the ball, but this year I am really struggling...sheesh.  It's not that I don't know what to get, I just haven't gone out and gotten everything yet.

Other then that, I have been watching with great interest a streak of gray hairs that I am developing.  I am curious to see how it turns out before I do anything about it, I'm not sure why.  It's near the front and seems to be made up of more silver then dull gray or white.  If it starts to look obnoxious I will do something about it, but for now it seems slightly ditinguished...however, I might just be dilutional (sp?).

Hello!

It's a blast to be featured on "What's Your Story?"...fun, humbling.  So here's is a little bit about this blog.  I created the town of Madisonville for a short story that I wrote last year in a creative writing class.  It was a sweet little town full of neccessary and cute shops and stores, but most importantly quirky characters.  Since I don't really talk about my exact location I felt like I wanted to put my blog in a location, even if it were a fictional one...and I couldn't think of a better place then Madisonville.  The News from Madisonville merely means the news from me.
I refer to my Sweetie as Sladkey which means Sweet in Russian, I just choose not to share too many concrete details about our life for protection and also it just doesn't seem neccessary...
Sladkey and I are expecting our first baby in February, so there has been a lot posted about it lately, but watch for snipets on the beautiful world around us, knitting, the occational recipes or two, God's glory in our lives, and just living and being...I am avidly learning about green living and how to leave a lighter impact on the plant by my actions and this imcludes the contemplation of using cloth diapers...I'm still trying to weigh my options.
I must admit that I am not crazy about my featured pictures of me that I put up yesterday...but many were asking for new belly shots and those are the latest.
So leave a comment, get comfortable and stay for awhile....

Happy and Sad at the same time

The last week and a half has been amazing for me.  First we got hit by a big ice and snow storm, the world was turned into ice.  Sladkey and I went to his parents house again last weekend to pick-up my Mom from the airport.  She came for a pre-baby visit and I also picked up my new car.  I adore it!  Lots of features with lots of room for the baby and safe as well.  On Saturday we did some shopping and ate yummy Indian food and then Sladkey's Mom wanted to go to a crafts baazar and told us to meet her there.  I walked in the room at the hotel where this show was supposed to be held and it turns out it was a surprise baby shower!  Everyone was in on it including Mom and Sladkey, even my brother and sister-in-law in Oregon knew.  It blessed my socks off!  We played games, ate cake, and opened gifts that were thoughtful and very needed...lots of precious clothes, blankets, bottles, etc.  Wow!!!  Then on Sunday while Sladkey flew to San Diego for work, Mom and I drove home in the new car.  We have spent the last week doing some shopping, baking cookies, talking and laughing.  It has been wonderful!  Today everyone left and I have been home eating far to many cookies.  Sladkey flew to New York for work and Mom and my sweet Micah are their way to home as well.  Micah is going to go live with Mom and it has been really hard for me, but it is the best thing with the baby coming.  Micah's an old boy and I don't think he would have adjusted well to the little one at all.  So it has been very quiet today with everyone gone, but God is good, he has given me a real peace and all will be well.
I also found out last week that I would be featured this week on "What's your Story?"  Exciting!  So here's to another fun week, full of blogging, final Christmas shopping and spending time with my Sweetie when he gets home from New York.  So make yourself at home, look around and leave a comment or two, I would love to meet you!
