5月31日 Now why don't they write?Big Sigh...Why is it so hard to find a good job? I think I might just go down to Hobby Lobby and apply there. I'm just a little discouraged. I have a college degree and excellent experience, but nothing. I have heard from a couple of places to tell me that the position had been filled and I tried calling one to be told the same thing. But most places are silent and they don't give any contact information so gone are the days of calling and pestering. All you have is an email and a fax number...when aren't exactly good at replying back. Oh, well...I will keep trying for hours everyday. I have been enjoying my time with Elijah. He is doing so very well and changing everyday. I have also been catching up on my watching of this show. It has long been a favorite of mine. But, I have never been a continual TV watcher, I like to break it up with other activities, but everything is in storage (no knitting, no sewing, no books) so I am trying to keep from going stir-crazy. Well, I am working on a favorite book by Eva Ibbotson, A Song for Summer. I am reading it in small sections to make it last longer. If you would like a good summer read, I highly recommend this one. Now to paint my toe nails and then back to the job search... 5月29日 A Little under the WeatherI have managed to be sick for the last two weeks. I went to a doctor today at David's wise insistence...it's a sinus infection. Ick. I had this delusional fantasy that if I waited just one more day (over the course of several days) that I would start to get better. Instead I kept getting worse. But, now I am on meds and all will soon be right with the world. While waiting for the doc Elijah pooped his diaper big time...all around us were smiling. Somehow those noises are endearingly cute when they come from a baby. So off to the bathroom we went. This was our first time using one of those fold down changing tables. I have avoided them at all costs. For some reason I have a strong aversion to them...pictures of masses of writhing germs come to mind. So I have spray Clorox sanitizer and I didn't even use it. I was in such a hurry trying to get back out in the waiting room so as not to miss my name being called and I went on warp speed. I felt silly when I go back and had to continue waiting for another half hour. I'm still job hunting, but not much luck yet...I know that God has a place already picked out for me. In the mean time I am enjoying my time with Little Man and David and trying to get well. That's the news for now... A Little under the WeatherI have managed to be sick for the last two weeks. What size are the windows, is the kitchen functional, could I make myself at home here? There are also mysteries about the people that are selling. Some people are very goofy and quirky...I know that having a house on the market is a challenge and it can be inconvenient, but that doesn't give people the right to be rude. One lady today was home and pretended that she had not known about the showing and wouldn't let us see the house. I think that she caught some hec for doing that because the Realtor called us twice begging us to give it another shot, but we were on a tight schedule. I would still like to see it and and so we will set up another showing when we can. A lot of you wonderful ladies put in blog land have been posting recipes and of course I am in the mood to bake and I have no oven here...I just hope that I will still be inspired when I get a full kitchen again. Happiest of Memorial Days to ya'll! We are headed west for the weekend to see David's family...I'll be back in blogland next week. 5月23日 LimboThe house has been packed...boxes are stacked around the rooms waiting for loading into the big truck in the morning. Little Man and I are tucked away in our temporary housing at a Marriott Residence Inn. David is still down at the house and he has done a stellar job supervising the whole process. I tend to get a little frazzled and overwhelmed with such things and so I grabbed the plants, freezer and fridge paraphernalia, and cleaners then hit the road with Elijah this morning...we bee bopped down the road to the sounds of News Boys and Veggie Rocks..."I really, really love my lips!" That song is so super and Veggie Tales is great fun... :) The temporary housing is nice, like a hotel suite with a small kitchenette...I have put out a couple of framed pictures, a white table cloth on the table and a vanilla scented candle is burning nearby...I wanted it to feel more like home and less like a sanitized hotel room. I do have a quirk that emerges when I am staying at strange places. I can't walk barefoot on a unknown floor...the thought creeps me out! I don't know when the floor was last cleaned and who else has walked on it and with what on their feet. My feet are clad in flip flops whenever I have to walk across the room. This can also include staying at places with good friends and people I know...I just can't get past it. Little Man and I have been fighting colds. He seems to be getting over his much faster then I. The cough just keeps hanging on and the nasal drip has been giving me nausea, but I have hi hopes to be on the mend soon. We are off to look at more houses tomorrow...I really hope we find the "one" soon...this state of limbo is not my cup of tea. But David is so good and laid back about it all, he is so good for me, he keeps me grounded. I'll keep ya'll posted... So much has passed: trees have leafed out, warm days have arrived, and Elijah has grown and changed so much. He is now smiling and he does laugh although silently. It's adorable! Just in the last couple of days he has begun to reach for things and grab on to things with a purpose instead of occasionaly by accident. His hair has also grown and he is longer and more filled out. We have also graduated to 3-6 month clothes and he is sleeping quite well in his crib. He still wakes me up one to two times a night to eat, but I don't mind it. This is such a short window in his life and David is wonderful and lets me sleep more on the weekends. I really do love mornings once I am up and about, but the hardest moment of the day is when I have to get up especially if it is early! This morning Little Man woke me up at 5:40am wanting to eat again and once he was done I could have so easily laid back down and slept convincing myself that a half hour would be worth it. But, I knew that it would be that much harder to get up again so I stayed up and I got ever so much done. Elijah went back to sleep so I got his bottles ready for Daycare (I am sadly back at work), made coffee, got dressed, did my hair and makeup, folded clothes, and ate breakfast. By the time I had completed all of that Elijah was begining to stir so I got him up and ready. I felt so much better about my day instead of having to run around and be late. I pray for the resolve to be able to do the same each and every morning.
Also, since I last posted other big things have happened in our lives. David's company is relocating him to a town about three hours north of where we are now. So we put our house on the market at the end of March and it sold two weeks ago. What a blessing! And we are moving as soon as we can. Next week is my last week at work and I am busy trying to find another job. We also have not found a house yet so we will be in temporary housing until we do. We are both very excited about this move. I believe that a job for me and a house will come along in God's perfect timing. It's hard not to get a little panicky, but I am working really hard to just trust in God.
That is the latest news, I will try to write again when I can... |
