All's well...

There is so much excitement around here...
We closed on the house on Friday!  Such a lot of papers to sign...it was my first time and very overwhelming...in a good way.  We went to Lowe's yesterday and purchased bathroom fixtures, new outside lights, a mailbox, and house numbers...we find ourselves going there everyday and just sitting in the empty living room or wandering from room to room sighing with joy.  The moving company will be unloading our things tomorrow and then the fun begins.  We will continue to be billeted here at the hotel until Wednesday and then we will be at our new digs full-time...can't wait.
I have started working out regularly and I am starting to feel really good.  After having Elijah I was losing the weight pretty steadily but then about a month or so ago I hit a wall and actually started putting on weight again...I was becoming discouraged.  So I decided to do something about it.  David's brother's girlfriend Maxisue brought the latest copy of Fitness magazine when they visited a couple of weeks ago and there was a section about losing belly fat etc. after having a baby...so I have started doing the workout every other day and I already feel better.  There is also some great advice about nutrition which I want to implement in my life once I have a kitchen and a pantry again (just a few short days).
Little Man is eating fruits and veggies now...he seems to like most everything he has tried.  He is learning how to open his mouth and the feel of a spoon on his tongue and gums...he gets it all over his face and fusses between bites because he wants a steady flow with no pauses for spoon refilling...silly boy.
So that is the news for now!

Birthday, family, and the Fourth

David's family was here for his birthday (Happy Birthday Sweetie) and for the Fourth of July.  It was great...they were all just down the hall here at the residence inn so we could wander back and forth to each other's rooms.  Little Man spent a couple nights with grandma and a good time was had by all.
We made the trek to Chicago and while there we scaled to the top of the Sears Tower which is always packed with tourists and it is difficult at times to squeeze in to see the views at all the windows, but well worth it.  We then went to the Taste of Chicago at Grant Park which was lovely.  It was hot and packed with people of every shape and description...perfect for hours of people watching.  We noshed on toasted ravioli, potato pancakes, samosas and mango/strawberry Italian ice while every once in awhile a sweet, cool breeze would blow in from Lake Michigan.  I did get weary after a few hours, my hip sockets started to ache from the walking and standing and Elijah wanted to eat so we headed back to the car while others in the family took a boat ride on the lake.
Day two was a full day at a local water park.  Such fun!  Even Little Man got in the water and seemed to enjoy it until someone splashed by and then he wasn't too crazy about it.
Day three was the ol' Forth of July which was pretty low key for us.  I am looking forward to a big cookout, hopefully at our new house next year.  So this year we did some shopping, napping and went out driving in search of fireworks...we found some nice ones.
David's family left on Thursday and we were left in our suddenly quite hotel room thinking about the nice time we had had.
I will be putting new pictures up that are from a wide range of things...I hope everyone is well and boy is it hot out there!  We are closing on the house on Friday...so excited!
